MCG Tightens Grip on Cleanliness, Roads and Pollution Measures in Gurugram

Gurugram Civic Body Cracks Down on Pollution, Traffic and Sanitation Issues

Gurugram, April 21, 2026: The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram has stepped up enforcement across sanitation, road maintenance and pollution control, with officials directed to accelerate work and meet set targets within defined timelines. The move is part of a broader effort to improve urban infrastructure and environmental conditions in the city.

Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya chaired a review meeting where departments were instructed to strictly adhere to goals outlined under the Commission for Air Quality Management action framework. Authorities were told to ensure timely execution of measures aimed at reducing pollution levels.

One of the key proposals discussed was the development of parking facilities at the division level to tackle illegal roadside parking. Officials believe that streamlining parking arrangements will help ease traffic congestion and improve vehicle movement across major stretches.

Representatives from the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority informed that coordinated efforts with the city police are underway to reduce bottlenecks at four prominent junctions. These locations have been identified for targeted decongestion work to be completed within the current quarter.

The commissioner also emphasized intensifying cleanliness drives and dust mitigation efforts, particularly along main roads. Departments have been instructed to maintain regular water sprinkling and ensure that roads remain free from debris and pollutants.

In addition, plans to enhance greenery along central verges and green belts were reviewed, with officials highlighting the role of increased plantation in improving air quality and urban aesthetics.
