IRGC Intelligence Chief Majid Khademi Killed in Alleged US-Israel Airstrike

Tehran: The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has confirmed the death of its intelligence chief, Majid Khademi, who was reportedly killed in a fresh round of airstrikes allegedly carried out by the United States and Israel.

Iranian authorities stated that Khademi was targeted earlier in the day, marking another high-profile casualty amid the ongoing conflict.

Khademi had assumed the role in 2025 after his predecessor, Mohammad Kazemi, was killed in an earlier Israeli strike during a brief but intense confrontation between Iran and Israel.

His death underscores the continued vulnerability of top Iranian officials amid escalating hostilities in the region.

Iran has directly accused both Washington and Tel Aviv of orchestrating the attack. However, the Israel Defense Forces has not officially confirmed involvement, stating only that it is reviewing the reports.

The development is expected to further strain relations and could trigger retaliatory actions from Tehran.

Earlier this year, Khademi had publicly criticized Donald Trump, accusing the US of encouraging instability within Iran. He had also alleged involvement of multiple foreign intelligence agencies in domestic unrest.

These remarks came in the wake of widespread protests and a subsequent crackdown that reportedly led to significant casualties.
