CSPDCL Upgraded to ‘A’ Grade in National Power Distribution Rankings

Centre’s 14th Integrated Rating recognises Chhattisgarh power utility’s improved consumer services and financial performance

Raipur: The Ministry of Power has upgraded Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited to ‘A’ grade in its 14th Annual Integrated Rating and Ranking of Power Distribution Utilities, acknowledging significant improvements in electricity services and management. The latest list, released in 2026, evaluated 54 power distribution companies across the country. CSPDCL improved its grade from ‘B’ to ‘A’, securing 70.40 marks, compared to 54.41 marks in the 13th rating, marking an improvement of over 16 points. Congratulating the officials and employees for the achievement, CM of Chhattisgarh Vishnu Deo Sai, CM’s Secretary Subodh Kumar Singh and Energy Secretary Rohit Yadav praised the company’s efforts to enhance power distribution and consumer services. CSPDCL Managing Director Bheem Singh Kanwar said the improved ranking reflects sustained reforms in power distribution, financial management and customer service.

The rating is based on key parameters including technical performance, financial health, consumer service quality, regulatory compliance and administrative efficiency. Officials said the improvement was achieved through measures such as reducing line losses, strengthening billing and revenue collection systems, improving grievance redressal mechanisms and accelerating infrastructure development. Bheem Singh Kanwar credited the achievement to the guidance of the state government, the collective efforts of employees and cooperation from consumers, adding that the company aims to further improve its performance and secure a higher rating in the coming years.
