New Delhi, October 02, 2025 – Marking the spirit of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Department of Legal Affairs (DLA), Ministry of Law and Justice, concluded the Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 campaign with widespread involvement from its offices nationwide. The fortnight-long drive, held from September 17 to October 2, focused on combining service with nation-building through meaningful cleanliness initiatives.
From Shastri Bhawan in New Delhi to branch secretariats in Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, and Mumbai, as well as offices such as the Law Commission of India, the Indian Law Institute, the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT), and litigation sections in Delhi courts — every unit of the Department actively participated in the campaign.
This year, the movement witnessed large-scale engagement with 1,109 officials and staff members taking part. Together, they achieved:

The nationwide call of “Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath” on September 25 became the campaign’s highlight. Union Law Secretary Dr. Anju Rathi Rana led the drive at the Main Secretariat, where officers, staff, and Safai Mitras joined in an hour-long shramdaan. Similar drives were organised simultaneously in other DLA offices.

The Department emphasized that Swachhata Hi Seva is not just a seasonal activity but a daily responsibility. By addressing neglected garbage points, engaging Safai Mitras, and combining awareness with action, the initiative highlighted how small, consistent efforts can contribute to building a cleaner and self-reliant India.
