Greater Noida– Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) made a significant contribution to the Uttar Pradesh government’s ambitious Tree Plantation Jan Mahotsav 2025-26 by planting 56,660 saplings in a single day on July 9, surpassing the assigned target of 44,100 plants for the year. The state-wide drive aims to plant 37 crore saplings across Uttar Pradesh to enhance green cover and promote environmental sustainability.
The plantation program was officially launched at 9:00 AM in the green belt of Sector-32, where Jewar MLA Thakur Dhirendra Singh and Chief Executive Officer of YEIDA planted the first saplings, marking the beginning of the grand initiative. This year’s campaign is centered around the themes “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0” and “Ped Lagao – Ped Bachao,” encouraging citizens to plant and protect trees in memory of their mothers and for a greener future.
Prominent officials including Additional CEOs Nagendra Pratap Singh and Kapil Singh, Special Duty Officers Shailendra Kumar Bhatia and Shailendra Kumar Singh, Senior Staff Officer Nand Kishore, General Managers Rajendra Singh Bhati (Projects) and Ashok Kumar Singh (Finance), Deputy General Manager Alok Kumar Rai (Finance), and Director of Horticulture Anand Mohan Singh were present at the event. They were joined by all YEIDA officers, employees, and enthusiastic participation from local villagers.
Various species including Neem, Jamun, Peepal, Pilkhan, Gulmohar, Chikrasiya, Banyan, Mango, Champa, Ashoka, Tecoma, and Chandni were planted as part of the drive, reinforcing the authority’s commitment to environmental preservation and sustainable development.
