New Delhi, Jul 31 2024 : A fire erupted in a residential building in Kirtinagar on Wednesday morning, prompting a quick response from the Delhi Fire Services (DFS). Ten people were safely evacuated from the building, officials confirmed.
The DFS received a call about the fire at 8:40 AM, and two fire tenders were immediately dispatched to the scene, according to a senior DFS officer. The fire, which started in the house, quickly spread to several electric meters, electricity panel boards, and two scooters parked in the building.
The affected structure consists of stilt parking and three floors. “Our officers successfully rescued ten individuals from different floors of the building,” the officer stated. The timely intervention by the fire services ensured that all residents were safely evacuated without any injuries.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Meanwhile, the DFS has urged residents to ensure that electric meters and panel boards are regularly checked and maintained to prevent such incidents in the future. The swift and efficient action by the DFS highlights the importance of prompt emergency response in safeguarding lives and property.
