Manipur Crackdown Four Arrested Amid Ongoing Unrest

Imphal, April,11,2025 :In a span of 24 hours, security forces in Manipur apprehended four militants — including a woman — in separate operations across the state. Arms and ammunition were also recovered during two major operations in Churachandpur and Imphal East districts.

Manipur Police arrested a woman for allegedly assisting the proscribed outfit PREPAK (Pro) in extortion-related activities. In another operation, an active cadre of KYKL/SOREPA was arrested from Sawombung in Imphal East district.

In a separate incident, an operative of the banned RPF/PLA group was apprehended during a search operation at Ngariyan Yairipok Road near Chingyang Lairembi Ima-Keithel, under the jurisdiction of Andro Police Station, Imphal East. The individual was reportedly involved in extortion activities.

Additionally, an active member of the KCP (PWG) was nabbed from Kairang village, under Heingang Police Station in Imphal East.

Security forces also conducted search operations and area domination exercises during which they recovered a .22 rifle with an empty magazine, a single-barrel gun, and two pompis from Siden Bowel in Churachandpur district.

In another major arms haul, security forces recovered a cache of weapons and explosives from Pukhao Ahallup’s western river bank under Sagolmang Police Station, Imphal East. The recovered items included one 9mm SMG with three magazines, one double-barrel gun, one .32 pistol loaded with three live rounds, four hand grenades, ten detonators, two MK12T explosives, four tube launchers, three additional magazines, 51 live rounds of ammunition, a radio set, and other materials.
