Commercial LPG Cylinder Prices Slashed by ₹41 in Delhi

New Delhi : Oil marketing companies (OMCs) have announced a reduction in the prices of 19-kilogram commercial LPG cylinders across major cities in India, bringing much-needed relief to businesses, particularly those in the hospitality and food industries. The new pricing structure, which comes into effect from today, reflects a price cut of ₹41 per cylinder in Delhi.

According to Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), the revised price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in the national capital now stands at ₹1,762, down from the previous rate. Other metro cities have also witnessed similar reductions. In Kolkata, the price has been slashed by ₹44.50, bringing the new cost to ₹1,882.50. In Mumbai, the rate has dropped by ₹42, fixing the price at ₹1,715.50, while Chennai has seen a reduction of ₹43.50, with the new price set at ₹1,926.

This revision in commercial LPG rates is expected to benefit businesses, particularly restaurants, hotels, and small eateries that rely on bulk LPG supplies. The reduction comes as a relief amid rising operational costs in the food and hospitality sectors.

The price cut is primarily attributed to fluctuations in global crude oil and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices. LPG prices in India are revised on the first day of every month based on international trends and currency exchange rates.

While commercial LPG prices have been reduced, the price of 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinders remains unchanged. The government has been providing subsidies and price control mechanisms for domestic consumers, ensuring stability in household cooking gas prices.

Over the past year, prices have fluctuated due to changes in global energy markets and demand-supply dynamics.

The reduction in commercial LPG cylinder prices is a welcome move for businesses that rely on bulk LPG consumption. As global energy prices remain volatile, further adjustments in fuel and LPG prices are expected in the coming months. Businesses and consumers will continue to monitor these changes closely, as they directly impact operating expenses and overall economic conditions.
