Jahankhela (Hoshiarpur), March 2: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann handed over financial assistance cheques of Rs. 1 crore each to the family members of five police personnel who were martyred in the line of duty.
The Chief Minister handed over cheques of Rs. 1 crore each to the families of martyred ASI (LR) Balwinder Singh, ASI (LR) Naseeb Chand, ASI (LR) Anil Kumar, Havildar Manjinder Singh and Sepoy Inderjit Singh during the passing out parade here. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this initiative of the state government is in recognition of the invaluable contribution of these brave warriors in maintaining law and order in the state. Reiterating the state government’s firm commitment to help the families of soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the service of the country, he said that this is the primary duty of the Punjab government.
The Chief Minister said that this initiative is in recognition of the immense contribution of the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country. He said that the financial assistance to the families of these heroes is in line with the state government’s commitment to ensure the welfare of the soldiers and their families. He hoped that this initiative of the state would prove helpful in helping the affected families on one hand and securing their future on the other. Bhagwant Singh Mann expressed the hope that this would encourage the youth to serve the country by joining the armed forces and Punjab Police.
