Prayagraj : In light of the heavy influx of devotees during the ongoing Mahakumbh, the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UP Board) has announced the postponement of the High School and Intermediate examinations scheduled for February 24 in Prayagraj. The decision was made to ensure the smooth conduct of both the examinations and the religious event, which attracts millions of pilgrims from across the country and abroad.

According to an official notice issued by Ashok Kumar, Joint Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh Government’s Secondary Education Section, the postponed examinations will now be held on March 9. The change in schedule applies exclusively to students appearing for the exams in Prayagraj, while examinations in other districts of Uttar Pradesh will proceed as per the original timetable.

For Class 10 (High School) students in Prayagraj, the Elementary Hindi examination was initially scheduled to be conducted in the first shift from 8:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., while the Healthcare subject exam was slated for the second shift from 2:00 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. Similarly, for Class 12 (Intermediate) students, the Military Science examination was to be held in the first shift, followed by the Hindi examination in the second shift. These exams will now be held on March 9, maintaining the same time slots as previously scheduled.

Bhagwati Singh, Secretary of the UP Board, emphasized that the revised schedule applies solely to the Prayagraj district, ensuring minimal disruption for students in the region while maintaining the original examination schedule in all other districts of Uttar Pradesh.

The UP Board examinations for 2025 are scheduled to take place from February 24 to March 12. In Prayagraj alone, a total of 2,02,349 students are set to appear for the exams across 335 designated examination centers.
