West Bengal: Class 4 Girl Raped and Murdered, BJP Blasts TMC Government

West Bengal : A Class 4 girl was allegedly raped and murdered while returning home from tuition in South 24 Parganas, West Bengal, leading to widespread outrage and condemnation. Her body was discovered on the bank of the River Ganges in Kripakhali village on Saturday morning, after she went missing the previous evening. The incident has raised serious concerns regarding the safety of children in the region.

According to police reports, the girl was last seen on Friday evening, prompting her family to report her disappearance by 9 PM. Following this, a case was registered by midnight, and law enforcement agencies quickly initiated an investigation. The investigation led to the identification of a suspect, resulting in the arrest of the accused shortly thereafter. Baruipur Superintendent of Police Palash Dhali confirmed that the accused was taken into custody and the girl’s body was recovered from the riverbank.

The police stated that they had acted swiftly and diligently, taking all necessary steps to address the situation. Superintendent Dhali emphasized that while they had followed protocol, any grievances expressed by the public would be carefully addressed, highlighting the importance of community trust in law enforcement.

In the wake of this tragedy, the incident has drawn significant political attention. Sukanta Majumdar, the state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief, expressed his shock over the brutal crime. He took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to voice his concerns about the deteriorating law and order situation in West Bengal under the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government. Majumdar criticized the TMC for failing to provide adequate safety measures for women and children, calling for accountability and stricter actions against such heinous crimes.

The BJP has consistently raised concerns about rising violence and crime rates in the state, and this tragic incident has further fueled their campaign against the TMC government. Local residents have also expressed their fears regarding safety and security, urging the government to take more decisive action to protect children and ensure that such incidents do not recur.

As investigations continue, the focus remains on bringing justice for the victim and her family, while broader discussions about public safety and government accountability intensify in West Bengal. The incident serves as a grim reminder of the urgent need for effective measures to protect the vulnerable and ensure a safer environment for all citizens.
