The Impressive TimesSrinagar, August 13, 2024: The Jammu and Kashmir administration has announced an open invitation for the Independence Day celebration on August 15 at Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar. Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, assured that there would be no restrictions and encouraged the public to attend the main event.
Bidhuri, who led the full dress rehearsal for the 78th Independence Day, hoisted the National Flag and oversaw the march past at Bakshi Stadium. He urged attendees to arrive early to secure their seats for the event. All necessary arrangements have been made to ensure smooth celebrations throughout the Kashmir valley.
Ahead of the main event, full dress rehearsals were conducted across the valley on Sunday. During these rehearsals, tributes were paid to leaders, freedom fighters, and martyrs who contributed to India’s independence. The event featured students and artists presenting patriotic performances, highlighting the nation’s unity and diversity amidst the prevailing hot and humid weather.
Senior officials, including ADGP Kashmir, IGP Central Kashmir Srinagar, DC Srinagar, and SSP Srinagar, were present, along with heads of civil departments.
