Raipur 07 August 2024 – Farmers in Chhattisgarh are experiencing remarkable improvements in their growth and economic conditions, thanks to the welfare schemes implemented by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai’s government. In the Kharif year 2023-24, the state government procured 144.92 lakh metric tonnes of paddy from 24.72 lakh farmers at support prices. In Balod district, where paddy cultivation is predominant, farmers are expressing their satisfaction following the timely receipt of their payments for paddy sales.
Shri Doman Lal Sahu, a farmer from Kohangatola village in the Balod development block, cultivates paddy on approximately five acres. He expressed his satisfaction, stating, “Under the good governance of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, I sold my paddy from the last Kharif year at a rate of 21 quintals per acre and received sales amount at the rate of Rs 3100 per quintal. I also received the pending bonus for two years. I used the money to build a pucca house and saved some for my children’s marriage.”
Shri Sahu praised the Chief Minister’s farmer-friendly schemes, calling them a boon for the agricultural community.
Farmer Shri Tularam Nagvanshi from Revati Nawagaon village in the Balod development block also highlighted the benefits of the state government’s farmer-friendly policies. “I have received a fair price for my paddy sales,” he said. “I have used the funds to further construct my house and to enhance my farming practices by installing a bore for irrigation. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai’s efforts have significantly improved farmers’ economic conditions. We are now receiving timely supplies of fertilizers and manure, and the Agriculture Department officials provide us with valuable technical guidance.”
Shri Nagvanshi lauded the Chief Minister’s schemes for their positive impact on the agricultural sector.
