Mumbai, July 29 2024 : The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex surged 417.77 points to reach 81,759.49 in early trading on Monday, buoyed by widespread buying activity across various sectors. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) also saw a positive start, climbing 104.20 points to 24,949.05.
The BSE Sensex recorded intraday highs and lows of 81,980.45 and 81,866.45, respectively, while the NSE noted a high of 24,980.45 and a low of 24,866.45. The Mid Cap index rose by 0.85%, and the Small Cap index increased by 1.25%.
Out of the 30 scrips on the Sensex, 18 advanced while 12 declined. Key gainers included Larsen & Toubro (L&T), which rose by 2.77% to ₹3,774.90, State Bank of India (SBI) up by 2.56% to ₹885.05, ICICI Bank advancing by 2.41% to ₹1,236.80, IndusInd Bank increasing by 2.31% to ₹1,435.50, and Bajaj Finserv gaining 1.12% to ₹1,603.75.
Among the losers were Titan, which fell by 1.91% to ₹3,428.80, Tech Mahindra declining by 1.55% to ₹1,516.55, and Bharti Airtel down by 1.53% to ₹1,491.55.
