Floods have affected over 24 lakh people across 30 districts in Assam

In Assam, the state is grappling with the second wave of floods, disrupting life for over 24 lakh people across 30 districts. Fortunately, no deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours.

Guwahati city has also experienced waterlogging, impacting vehicular movement. The IMD has forecasted heavy to very heavy rains in isolated areas of Upper Assam. Around 47 thousand people have been displaced from their homes and relocated to temporary relief camps due to the floods.

Our correspondent reports that the Kaziranga National Park Authority has rescued nearly 100 wild animals, although sadly, approximately 90 animals have perished due to the floods.
