PM Modi lauds CM Yogi for eradicating mafia, state's infrastructure development

Lucknow, May 16, 2024- Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered speeches at public gatherings in Purvanchal (Azamgarh, Jaunpur, Bhadohi, and Pratapgarh), Uttar Pradesh, on Thursday.

Throughout his addresses, he lauded the efforts of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed towards eradicating mafia and carrying out infrastructure development across Uttar Pradesh in general, and Purvanchal region in particular. He also expressed confidence that over the next five years, Modi and Yogi’s collaborative efforts would significantly transform the landscape and prospects of Purvanchal.


PM Modi commended CM Yogi for his proactive measures in dismantling criminal elements and spearheading infrastructural developments, heralding Purvanchal as the new growth engine of developed India. In Azamgarh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s initiative to combat criminal elements and maintain cleanliness.

He noted the transformative impact of these efforts, recalling the days when the influence of the alleged SP’s hooligans stifled daily life of people, restricted market hours and hindered mobility, especially for women and girls pursuing education. “Presently, under the governance of the BJP, Uttar Pradesh is witnessing rapid development with the establishment of airports and universities, he stated.”


PM Modi underscored CM Yogi’s vigorous campaign to purge the state of mafia, rioters, and extortionists, marking a significant stride towards a cleaner and safer Uttar Pradesh.

Likewise, in Bhadohi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a dig at the SP governance and said, “The successful crackdown on mafia operations is a reality in UP today, where under the SP administration, the unsettling reality of ‘One District, One Mafia’ prevailed, with distinct mafia strongholds entrenched across every district.”

PM Modi continued: “These criminal syndicates operated with impunity, posing threats to the safety of businessmen, women, and youth, leaving a bleak outlook for the future. However, a palpable shift has occurred with the advent of Yogi Ji’s leadership. The prevailing atmosphere has transformed, instilling a sense of security among the public while eliciting fear among the once-dominant mafia entities.”


Prime Minister Modi also addressed a public gathering in Jaunpur, emphasizing the rapid development of world-class infrastructure in Purvanchal. He reiterated his commitment to realizing the vision of a developed India, with Purvanchal serving as the pivotal engine of growth. PM Modi said, “The tangible benefits brought by infrastructural projects such as expressways and airport upgrades are directly impacting the lives of residents in Jaunpur and beyond.”

Highlighting the region’s burgeoning status as a hub for healthcare and education, he said, “Our collective efforts will reshape the landscape and future trajectory of Purvanchal over the next five years.”
During his address in Pratapgarh, PM Modi lamented the adverse impact of SP-Congress politics on Uttar Pradesh, characterizing it as a ‘culture of lawlessness, corruption, appeasement, and nepotism’.

He highlighted the transformative initiatives underway and said, “Infrastructure projects such as the Purvanchal Expressway and the upcoming Ganga Expressway will serve as catalysts for developing logistics parks, industrial centers, and agricultural hubs along their corridors.” Emphasizing the ‘One District One Product’ initiative, PM Modi underscored the promotion of Amla products to benefit local farmers and growers.”

He contrasted the previous regime’s stifling environment for industry, marked by extortion and lack of investment, with the proactive measures undertaken by the current government to reclaim land and foster new opportunities for growth under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership.
