Massive Cache of Arms and Ammunition Recovered in Manipur During Joint Security Operation

Imphal, 14 June – In a significant development, joint teams comprising Manipur Police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), the Indian Army, and Assam Rifles successfully conducted coordinated search operations across five valley districts in the intervening night of 13 and 14 June 2025. The operation was launched based on credible intelligence inputs regarding the presence of a substantial cache of illegal arms and ammunition in various locations on the outskirts of the valley districts.

As a result of these meticulously planned and executed operations, a considerable quantity of arms, ammunition, explosives, and war-like stores were recovered. The recoveries are as follows:

Arms:

  • Self-Loading Rifles (SLR) – 151

  • INSAS Rifles – 65

  • Other Rifles – 73

  • Carbine Guns – 5

  • MP5 Guns – 2

  • Light Machine Guns (LMG) – 12

  • AK Series Rifles – 6

  • Amogh Rifles – 2

  • AR-15 Rifle – 1

  • Pistols – 6

  • Flare Guns – 2

  • Barrels – 2

  • Mortar – 1

Total Firearms Recovered: 328

Ammunition and Explosives:

  • Assorted Magazines – 591

  • SLR Rounds – 3,534

  • INSAS Rounds – 2,186

  • .303 Rounds – 2,252

  • AK Rounds – 234

  • Amogh Rounds – 407

  • 9mm Rounds – 20

  • Grenades – 10

  • Lathodes – 3

  • Detonators – 7

  • Para Items – 3

These intelligence-led operations represent a major operational success for the Manipur Police and other security agencies. They underscore the ongoing commitment of the state’s law enforcement apparatus to restore peace, maintain public order, and ensure the safety and security of the citizens and their property.
