Today marks the start of the 11th session of the 15th Kerala Assembly. The main goal of the 28-day meeting is to have in-depth conversations about the grant requests included in the 2024–25 State Budget, which was unveiled in February. The budget’s grant requests will be discussed and passed during the course of thirteen days of the session. Eight days will be dedicated to government work and five days to the business of private members. On July 25, the 11th session will come to an end.
In the assembly session, the Kerala Municipality (Amendment) Bill and the Kerala Panchayat Raj (Amendment) Bill will be introduced. These changes are necessary for the State’s local body ward boundaries to be established.
In the meantime, the MLAs who ran for and won seats in the Lok Sabha had till June.
