Harare, March 27 ,2025: Zimbabwe Cricket has announced an action-packed home season, featuring two Test series against South Africa and New Zealand, along with an exciting Tri-Nation T20I tournament.
The cricketing spectacle kicks off with Zimbabwe vs South Africa in a two-match Test series at Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo, marking their first Test clash since 2017.
Following the red-ball series, Zimbabwe will join South Africa and New Zealand in a T20I tri-nation tournament beginning July 14. Each team will face off twice, with the top two teams advancing to the final on July 26.
Zimbabwe will then shift focus back to Test cricket, taking on New Zealand in a two-match Test series, their first since 2016.
1st Test: June 28 – July 2, Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo
2nd Test: July 6 – July 10, Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo
1st T20I: July 14 – Zimbabwe vs South Africa, Harare Sports Club
2nd T20I: July 16 – South Africa vs New Zealand, Harare Sports Club
3rd T20I: July 18 – Zimbabwe vs New Zealand, Harare Sports Club
4th T20I: July 20 – Zimbabwe vs South Africa, Harare Sports Club
5th T20I: July 22 – New Zealand vs South Africa, Harare Sports Club
6th T20I: July 24 – Zimbabwe vs New Zealand, Harare Sports Club
Final: July 26 – Top 2 Teams, Harare Sports Club
1st Test: July 30 – August 3, Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo
2nd Test: August 7 – August 11, Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo
Zimbabwe Cricket Managing Director Givemore Makoni expressed excitement about hosting two of cricket’s top teams.
“This is the biggest international home season we’ve had in years, and an incredible opportunity for our players to test themselves against two of the world’s cricketing powerhouses,” said Makoni.
He emphasized that the series will boost Zimbabwe’s cricketing standards and provide valuable international exposure to its players.
With a mix of red-ball and T20 action, Zimbabwe’s cricket fans are in for a thrilling season as their team battles against two of the world’s strongest cricketing nations.
