Jaipur , 26 March , 2024- The 68th meeting of the Regional Official Language Implementation Committee, Jaipur, was held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at the North Western Railway Head Office, Jaipur, under the chairmanship of Amitabh, General Manager, UPR.
According to Captain Shashi Kiran, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Western Railway, the meeting reviewed the progress of Hindi implementation for the quarter ending December 2024 at the regional level. Discussions were held with committee members to encourage the use of Hindi in accordance with the Official Language Policy across various areas of work.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman paid tribute to renowned Hindi poetess Mahadevi Verma on her birth anniversary by garlanding her portrait. Her biography was presented, and her famous poem “Mera Mitne Ka Adhikar” was recited to honor her literary contributions.
Geetika Pandey, Chief Official Language Officer, emphasized that Hindi is not just a language but a bridge of national unity, culture, and ideas. She highlighted Hindi’s growing influence on a global scale and expressed pride in its role as an integral part of India’s identity and civilization.
In his address, General Manager Amitabh stated that promoting the official language is both a responsibility and an opportunity to strengthen its use in government work. He urged everyone to remain dedicated to increasing Hindi’s presence in their respective fields.
During the meeting, the 30th edition of the quarterly Hindi e-magazine “Marudhara” was released. Amitabh noted that this publication provides railway officers and employees a platform to contribute articles, poems, and other literary works in Hindi.
The agenda of the meeting was discussed item-wise, focusing on enhancing the use of Hindi in official work. Additionally, a short video on Hindi e-tools, prepared by the Official Language Department, was screened, and members shared suggestions for further promoting the official language.
As part of the event, five winners of the Railway Board’s Individual Cash Award Scheme (Base Year-2021) were felicitated by the General Manager with certificates in recognition of their contributions.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Deputy Chief Official Language Officer (Headquarters) expressed gratitude to the committee members for their participation. With the Chairman’s permission, the meeting was formally closed.
