Kejriwal Slams BJP Over Arrest, Pledges to Resume Delhi’s Development

New Delhi , 26 September , 2024 – Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has strongly criticized the ruling BJP in the Centre following his arrest by the Directorate of Enforcement in connection with the ongoing excise policy case. Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Kejriwal questioned the motive behind his arrest, expressing shock upon being told that it was to derail the Delhi government and halt its progress. He condemned the arrest as an attempt to increase hardships for Delhi’s public.

Earlier in the day, Kejriwal, accompanied by Delhi Chief Minister Atishi and AAP leader Manish Sisodia, conducted an inspection of the roads near Delhi University. Addressing the media post-inspection, Kejriwal assured that the city’s problems would be promptly addressed. He pledged that all halted projects would resume, highlighting the immediate need to repair the road damaged by pipeline work.
