New Delhi , 26 September , 2024 – Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has strongly criticized the ruling BJP in the Centre following his arrest by the Directorate of Enforcement in connection with the ongoing excise policy case. Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Kejriwal questioned the motive behind his arrest, expressing shock upon being told that it was to derail the Delhi government and halt its progress. He condemned the arrest as an attempt to increase hardships for Delhi’s public.
Earlier in the day, Kejriwal, accompanied by Delhi Chief Minister Atishi and AAP leader Manish Sisodia, conducted an inspection of the roads near Delhi University. Addressing the media post-inspection, Kejriwal assured that the city’s problems would be promptly addressed. He pledged that all halted projects would resume, highlighting the immediate need to repair the road damaged by pipeline work.
Further criticizing the BJP, Kejriwal accused the party of attempting to defame AAP and hinder its work for Delhi’s public. AAP leader Dilip Pandey supported Kejriwal’s claims, stating that the BJP aimed to disrupt the party’s initiatives but failed.
