The Impressive TimesNEW DELHI, August 28 , 2024 – Mayor Dr Shelly Oberoi today visited the house of the deceased Swachhata Sainik, Dhanraj, and handed over the appointment letter for the post of daily wage sanitation worker to his wife, Rani, on compassionate ground. Dhanraj was an employee of the MCD Zone Narela.
On this occasion, Narela Assembly MLA Sharad Chauhan, Councillor of Ward No.1 Narela Shweta Kamal Khatri, Deputy Commissioner Narela Zone Pawan Yadav and senior officials of the corporation were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor said that when the local councillor requested me to give a job to a family member of the deceased employee and introduced me to his wife and the small child, my heart went out to the family. Dr Shelly Oberoi said that I instructed the officials to complete the process of giving a job to the dependent of the deceased employee as per the rules at the earliest. She said that since the Aam Aadmi Party government has come to power in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, our councillors are working to serve the community under the leadership of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
The Mayor said that since the Aam Aadmi Party government has come to power in the Municipal Corporation, this is the fourth such case when a dependent of a deceased employee is being given a job on compassionate ground.
She said that today we have come to Narela to give the appointment letter of the daily wage sanitation worker to Rani. The Mayor said as Rani’s child is too small, she will be posted near her home. The Mayor also handed over a cheque of Rs 1,11,000 collected by the local residents to Rani.
Dr Shelly Oberoi assured the citizens present on the occasion that the Aam Aadmi Party government of MCD is committed to providing better facilities to the citizens of Delhi. The Mayor said, “I want to assure all the corporation employees that in times of any difficulty, our government and MCD administration are committed to help you in every possible way.”
