Faridabad , 6 July , 2024 : In alignment with PM Narendra Modi’s ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative, a grand plantation drive was held in NIT 4 today. Distinguished attendees included Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests A.P. Pandey, CP Rakesh Kumar Arya, ADC Dr. Anand Sharma, Deputy Forest Conservator Faridabad Dr. Sunil Kumar, students from Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 3, and members of the Lions Club NGO. The event saw the planting of approximately 5000 saplings, including species like neem, banyan, gulmohar, kachnar, jacaranda, and siras. Additionally, seed balls were scattered to foster natural growth with the onset of rains.
A.P. Pandey highlighted Haryana’s dedication to environmental conservation, stressing the essential role of trees in safeguarding the ecosystem. “We are committed to maximizing tree plantation efforts across various departments, aiming to make a significant impact on environmental preservation,” he stated. Pandey reiterated the campaign’s core message, drawing a parallel between the nurturing care given to mothers and the attention needed for nature. CP Arya urged citizens to actively participate in the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, underlining the critical need to address global warming.
“Nature is our mother, and it is our collective responsibility to protect it. By planting and nurturing trees, we contribute to a healthier environment and a sustainable future,” CP Arya remarked, calling for widespread community involvement. ADC Dr. Anand Sharma echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the interconnectedness of nature and motherhood in human life. “Our duty is to plant trees for environmental protection and to ensure a healthy planet for future generations,” he said. He also encouraged everyone to plant trees in honor of loved ones, reinforcing the campaign’s personal and communal significance. During the event, DCF Faridabad educated the participating students on the lifecycle of plants, from nursery preparation to successful cultivation, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for environmental stewardship among the young attendees.
