Arvind Kejriwal waited for hours for police with his elderly parents

New Delhi  23rd May 2024 – AAP National Convenor and Delhi CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal, along with his parents and wife, waited for the Delhi police to come to his house. Providing this information on his ‘X’ handle (erstwhile Twitter) CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal shared, “I am waiting for the police with my parents and wife. Yesterday the police called and asked for time from my parents for interrogation, but they have not given any information yet whether they will come or not.”

Along with this post, the Chief Minister has also shared a photo and a 45-second video. The photo is of his official residence, in which the Chief Minister and his wife are sitting with their elderly parents and waiting for the police to come. While in the video, he is seen supporting his elderly father and bringing him out of the house and his wife Smt. Sunita Kejriwal is supporting his mother’s hand and bringing her out. It is clear from the video that his parents are very old, and they are unable to walk without support. During this time, many senior leaders, including Shri Sanjay Singh, Ministers — Gopal Rai, Saurabh Bharadwaj, Ms. Atishi — were also present at the Chief Minister’s residence.

In this regard, senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Shri Sanjay Singh said that the Prime Minister of India has stooped so low in his political malice and spirit of revenge against Shri Arvind Kejriwal that first he arrested the ministers of the Kejriwal government and put them in jail. Then he arrested Shri Arvind Kejriwal and put him in jail and today, crossing all limits, he has made a plan to harass his old and sick parents through the police. He is harassing his old parents through the police.

The AAP Rajya Sabha MP shared that Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s father is about 85 years old. Whenever he walks, he takes someone’s support. He is unable to hear properly. His mother is 76 years old. Two days before Shri Arvind Kejriwal was arrested, she had come home after an operation. Shri Arvind Kejriwal could not even meet his mother before his arrest and the Prime Minister sent him to jail. Has the Prime Minister stooped to this level?

“The people of the country and Delhi are seeing that the Prime Minister has taken his ill-will and politics of revenge towards Shri Arvind Kejriwal to such a level that he is not even sparing his old and sick parents. He is getting them tortured by the police. The Prime Minister of India can stoop to any level in hatred, ill-will and feeling of revenge. This is a living example of it. The entire country and Delhi will answer this,” Shri Sanjay Singh mentioned.

On the other hand, senior AAP leader and Cabinet Minister Ms. Atishi said that ever since Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal has been granted bail, the BJP has become nervous and anxious. The BJP is attacking Shri Arvind Kejriwal and the AAP one after the other, hatching conspiracies against them. But today when his parents are being tortured and called for questioning by the Delhi Police, I feel that all limits have been crossed. CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s mother is 76 years old. She was in the hospital for a long time till a few days before Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest. Her health condition is such that she is unable to walk much, she is unable to get out of her room. His father is 85 years old. He is unable to walk without support. He has poor eyesight and hearing.

The cabinet minister further added that our Prime Minister has stooped to such an extent that he is torturing elderly and sick parents. I don’t think that politics has ever stooped so low in the history of our country. Shri Arvind Kejriwal himself became a son, considered every elderly person of Delhi as his parents, and sent them on a pilgrimage just like Shravan Kumar. I am confident that the way Shri Arvind Kejriwal is being harassed today, his elderly and sick parents are being harassed, the people of Delhi will definitely answer this with their votes. We are still waiting for the Delhi Police to arrive. But nothing is known. If such elderly and sick parents are being called for questioning, they are being mentally harassed, then this is a matter of concern for us too.

“The whole of Delhi knows that today Delhi Police is a political weapon of the BJP and is working at the behest of the BJP. This entire episode is the result of the BJP’s conspiracy. The BJP should also tell what deal they have made with Swati Maliwal, for which this entire conspiracy has been hatched,” Ms. Atishi asked.
