Gokalpuri Police Crack Jewellery Shop Burglary Case, Arrest Accused and Recover Stolen Valuables

New Delhi –With the arrest of a burglar, team of PS Gokalpuri solved the burglary case in jewellery shop and recovered stolen items of approximately 20 grams of gold, 1.65 kg of silver, one tablet, and two mobile phones.
On 13.07.2025, a complaint regarding a burglary was received at PS Gokalpuri. The complainant, Mr. Karan Verma, reported that he owns a jewellery shop in Gokalpuri. He had closed his shop at around 9:00 PM on 12.07.2025. However, upon reopening the shop the next day, he found that the roof had been broken and various gold and silver items had been stolen.
Accordingly, a case under sections 305/331(4) of the BNS was registered at PS Gokalpuri and investigation was initiated.
A dedicated team was formed under the leadership of Insp. Praveen Kumar, SHO/PS Gokalpuri, and included SI Sawan, HCs Anuj and Amit, Ct. Rohit, and Ct. Hitesh. The team operated under the close supervision of Sh. Deepak Chandra, ACP/Gokalpuri.
During the investigation, the team collected vital evidence including CCTV footage from the surrounding area and activated local informant networks. Based on the clues gathered, the suspect was identified and arrested during a targeted raid.
The accused has been identified as Yogesh Kumar S/o Sidh Gopal, R/o Gokalpur Village, Delhi, aged 24 years. Approximately 20 grams of gold, 1.65 kg of silver articles, one tablet, and two mobile phones were recovered from his possession.
Further investigation is in progress.
