Faridabad, April 10 :A special session of the Faridabad Municipal Corporation House was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Mayor Mrs. Praveen Joshi. The budget proposal for the financial year 2025-26 of the Municipal Corporation Faridabad was presented.
The session was attended by Union Minister of State Mr. Krishan Pal Gurjar, Minister of State for Food Mr. Rajesh Nagar, former Cabinet Minister and MLA Moolchand Sharma, MLA Dhanesh Adlakha, MLA Satish Fagna, MLA Raghubir Teotia, Municipal Commissioner A. Mona Srinivas, along with other corporation members and officials.
The budget presented before the House by Municipal Financial Controller Mr. Dinesh Kumar, which shows an estimated income of ₹1964 crore and a projected expenditure of ₹1924 crore.
The budget proposed income from:
Property Tax: ₹163 crore
Stamp Duty: ₹220 crore
Development Charges: ₹100 crore
Land and Shop Sales (court proceedings): Target of ₹300 crore
Waste Management: ₹72 crore
Advertisement Revenue: ₹27 crore
Municipal Tax from Electricity Department: ₹55 crore
The budget proposal, with estimated income of ₹1964 crore and estimated expenditure of ₹1924 crore, was unanimously approved by voice vote in the House. Members also shared their suggestions and raised issues during the session.
Suggestions were made to increase revenue through advertisements, water meters, and property tax collection. Some members also highlighted local issues in their wards.
Chairing the session, Mayor Mrs. Praveen Joshi assured all members that she is committed to the development of Faridabad, and her dream is of a Clean and Green Faridabad, which can only be achieved through collective efforts of all members and officials.
After the session, she told reporters that each ward will be allocated ₹1 crore for development works. She also promised to personally visit every ward and, wherever additional funds are needed, she will ensure separate budget allocations are made.
During the session, Union Minister of State Mr. Krishan Pal Gurjar urged all councilors to keep the corporation administration informed about the development works required in their respective wards so that necessary files can be prepared by the municipal officials. He expressed confidence that with coordination between officials and councilors, Faridabad’s development will progress rapidly. He also congratulated Mayor Praveen Joshi and all members for the successful passing of the budget.
Municipal Commissioner A. Mona Srinivas assured the Mayor and members that the corporation will work for the development of Faridabad with everyone’s cooperation. He said that all officials will contribute positively in a harmonious environment for the growth of the city.
