CM Nayab Singh Saini to flag off Cyclothon from Faridabad to Gurugram on April 11

Faridabad, April 8:With the resolve to make Haryana a drug-free state, the Cyclothon 2.0 journey, which began in Hisar, will enter Faridabad via Palwal district on April 10. The next day, April 11, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini will flag off the Cyclothon from the Sports Complex in Sector-12, Faridabad, heading towards Gurugram. This information was shared by Deputy Commissioner Vikram Singh during a press conference held at the Mini Secretariat’s auditorium.

DC Vikram Singh stated that under the “Drugs-Free Haryana” theme, the state government is running a cycling campaign across districts to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drugs. The Cyclothon will enter Faridabad from Palwal at 11 AM on April 10 and pass through Ballabgarh, Tigaon, Neemka, and major roads of the district before halting for the night at the Sector-12 Sports Complex.

In the evening, at 6 PM, a cultural event will be held at Omaxe World Street, Sector-79, where cyclists participating in the event will also take part. The journey will see participation from local youth, students, athletes, social and religious organizations, and gram panchayats. Various departments, educational institutions, NGOs, sports bodies, women’s groups, and village committees will also play vital roles in the campaign.

DC Singh added that NGOs and industrial organizations will specially welcome the cyclists who have joined from Hisar. All preparations by the district administration to ensure the success of this event have been completed. Concerned officials will ensure smooth traffic flow along the Cyclothon route.

He also appealed to the public to take precautions against heatwaves and rising temperatures. Addressing media personnel, the DC requested them to use their platforms to spread the word, encouraging greater public participation from Faridabad.

The registration process for Cyclothon 2.0 is ongoing. Residents can register through the Haryana Uday portal at https://uday.haryana.gov.in/AntiDrug_Cyclothon. Participants will receive e-certificates upon successful registration. Directions have also been issued to ensure arrangements for refreshments, medical aid, and traffic control along the route.
