New Delhi : A grand Pipping Ceremony was held, today at Adarsh Auditorium, Police Headquarters, New Delhi, where 145 retiring police personnel were conferred with honorary ranks under the Honorary Rank Promotion Scheme. This marks the fourth such ceremony since the initiative was introduced in December.
The ceremony was presided over by Shri Satish Golchha, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Delhi, who, along with other senior officers, ceremonially pipped the retiring personnel—from Constable to Sub-Inspector—with badges of their next higher honorary rank.
In his address, the Commissioner of Police, Delhi, extended heartfelt wishes to all members of the Delhi Police family present at the ceremony. He noted that the visible joy and pride among the retirees and families, serves to further bolster our courage and resolve to work even harder. He emphasized that retirement does not end their association with Delhi Police, and they will always remain an integral part of the police family.

Speaking further, the CP Delhi said, today, the police personnel are retiring after rendering a glorious service, which is not only a job, it is indeed a passion, which drives one to toil for long working hours during 35-40 years of service. He also praised the families for their sacrifices, particularly in managing responsibilities at home while the police personnel remain engaged in their demanding duties.
The retiring personnel were encouraged to remain actively engaged in constructive activities in the service of nation and society. The CP Delhi also wished them a healthy, happy, and fulfilling post-retirement life.
The personnel conferred with honorary ranks included: Head Constable to Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI): 10, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) to Sub-Inspector: 38 and Sub-Inspector to Inspector: 97.
Senior officers of Delhi Police, along with the retiring personnel and their family members, attended the ceremony, making it a memorable occasion.
