Manav Rachna and Cycling Federation of India Join Hands to Launch India’s First Structured Cycling Coaching Academy

India’s first structured cycling coaching program with UCI-aligned certifications to nurture global-standard coaches and sports professionals.

Faridabad, 30 July 2025 — In a significant move that promises to reshape the future of cycling education in India, Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS) and the Cycling Federation of India (CFI) signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 30th July 2025 at the Manav Rachna Campus to establish the CFI–MRIIRS Cycling Coaching Academy.

This strategic partnership between a premier academic institution and the national governing body for cycling marks a new chapter in Indian sports education—one that champions professionalization, global alignment, and community empowerment within the cycling ecosystem.

Under this MoU, the Academy will offer:

  • UCI‑aligned Level 1–3 Coaching Certifications, ensuring global standards in training
  • Indias first structured 18‑month Diploma in Cycling Coaching & Sports Sciences, blending technical mastery with sports science
  • The SafeCycle Program, aimed at promoting cycling safety and awareness at the grassroots level
  • Career pathways for certified coaches, commissaires, mechanics, and event directors
  • Opportunities for international participation and regional collaboration

This collaboration with Manav Rachna is a historic step for Indian cycling. For the first time, we are creating a formal educational framework that will not only professionalize coaching but also uplift the entire cycling ecosystem—from grassroots awareness to international competitiveness,” shared Mr. Maninder Pal Singh, Secretary General, Cycling Federation of India.

Dignitaries present at the MoU signing included key leadership from both institutions:

Mr. Maninder Pal Singh (Secretary General, CFI), Mr. Neeraj Tanwar (Joint Secretary, CFI), and Mr. V.N. Singh (Assistant Secretary, CFI), along with other senior officials of the federation. From Manav Rachna the event was graced by- Dr. Amit Bhalla (Vice President, MRIIRS), Mr. Sarkar Talwar (Director, Sports, MRIIRS), Mr. Agam Talwar (Director – Sports Collaborations & New Initiatives – MREI), and Dr. Nitesh Malhotra (Head, Department of Physiotherapy, MRIIRS).

Bringing together CFI’s technical expertise and global affiliations—including with the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI)—and MRIIRS’s academic excellence and advanced sports science infrastructure, this MoU lays the foundation for a sustainable, professionalized, and globally competitive cycling ecosystem in India.

This is not just a formal agreement—it is a bold stride toward making India a recognized hub for cycling education, coaching excellence, and talent development.
