New Delhi, October 1, 2025 – Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla today paid floral tributes to former Speaker of Lok Sabha, G.M.C. Balayogi, on his birth anniversary at the Central Hall of Samvidhan Sadan.
Members of Parliament, dignitaries, and officials of both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha also joined in offering their respects. Lok Sabha Secretary-General Utpal Kumar Singh, along with senior officers from the two Secretariats, paid homage on the occasion.

Balayogi, remembered for his humility and leadership, served as the Speaker of the Twelfth Lok Sabha and was re-elected to the Thirteenth Lok Sabha. He was also a Member of the Tenth Lok Sabha, besides having served as Minister of Higher Education in the Government of Andhra Pradesh and as a Member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly.
His tenure was cut short by his untimely demise in a helicopter crash in West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh, on March 3, 2002. Balayogi is remembered for his contributions to parliamentary democracy and his dedication to public service.
