JAIPUR -Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, addressed the ‘Sahkar & Rojgar Utsav’ in Jaipur, Rajasthan, on 17 July 2025, as part of the International Year of Cooperatives – 2025 celebrations. During the event, he distributed appointment letters to over 8,000 youth from across Rajasthan and inaugurated a series of development and cooperative sector initiatives.
Shah emphasized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision behind creating an independent Ministry of Cooperation—to empower every village, poor person, and farmer. Since its establishment, the ministry has launched 61 key initiatives to strengthen cooperatives nationwide, including the creation of 40,000 new Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), full computerization, and new cooperative bodies for organic farming, seed promotion, and exports.
He said, “The next 100 years will belong to cooperation,” highlighting that 98% of India’s rural areas are directly connected to cooperative institutions. Cooperatives now play a major role in procurement of food grains, fertilizer distribution, sugar production, and running fair price shops, directly impacting over 31 crore people through 8.5 lakh cooperative societies.
During the event, the Minister virtually inaugurated 24 grain storage warehouses and 64 millet outlets. He also launched the White Revolution 2.0 with the rollout of an online registration platform for Primary Dairy Cooperative Societies and distributed micro-ATMs to over 2,300 milk producer committees. Under the Gopal Credit Card Scheme, ₹12 crore in loans were given to around 1,400 cowherds.
Shah praised Rajasthan’s leadership in agriculture, noting the state’s top rankings in the production of mustard, cluster beans, millets, and oilseeds. He lauded the Modi government’s commitment to farmers, including the guaranteed MSP procurement of pulses, oilseeds, and maize via NAFED and NCCF apps.
He also spoke of the state’s historical and cultural importance, recalling brave heroes like Maharana Pratap and Panna Dhai. The Minister praised the current Rajasthan government’s efforts to tackle paper leaks and attract massive investments through the Global Investment Summit. He also flagged off 100 new police vehicles and praised the progress under schemes like Jal Jeevan Mission and the Gareebi Mukt Gram Yojana.
Highlighting national security achievements under PM Modi, Shah reminded the audience of strong responses to terrorist attacks—including surgical and air strikes—which sent a clear message to adversaries about India’s resolve.
Concluding, Amit Shah expressed hope that by India’s centenary of independence in 2047, Rajasthan’s cooperative movement would lead the nation in development and empowerment.
