Operation Sindoor’s Reach Confirmed: New Satellite Imagery Exposes Severe Damage to Pakistani Airbase

New Delhi : Recent high-resolution satellite imagery has revealed that Pakistan’s Nur Khan airbase, a strategic military installation in Rawalpindi, suffered far more extensive damage during India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’ than initially reported. The fresh visuals indicate that the precision strikes by the Indian Air Force (IAF) may have demolished a significant portion of the base’s infrastructure, well beyond the previously acknowledged targets.

Located less than 25 kilometres from Islamabad, Nur Khan airbase is considered one of Pakistan’s most critical military hubs. It houses VIP transport aircraft, drone units, and several key assets of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF). Its proximity to the capital and the sensitive assets it hosts make it a high-value target in any conflict scenario.

Defence analyst Damien Symon, in a social media post, shared images and a detailed assessment suggesting that a large complex near the initial strike zone has been completely destroyed. “A review of Nur Khan Airbase, Pakistan, reveals the entire complex near India’s strike location has now been demolished,” Symon stated, highlighting the increased scale of impact caused by the IAF operation.

The Intel Lab, a leading open-source intelligence platform, also released updated satellite visuals showing widespread structural damage across the base. Earlier assessments had focused on two special-purpose military trucks, reportedly destroyed between May 8 and 10 during the Indian precision strikes. However, the new imagery points to a broader impact, indicating that critical infrastructure—possibly including control centers and support facilities—was also targeted and destroyed.

Operation Sindoor is widely seen as a demonstration of India’s new, assertive doctrine on cross-border terrorism and military deterrence. The mission, executed with high levels of secrecy and accuracy, appears to have caught Pakistan off-guard, both in terms of timing and precision. The Indian government has not officially confirmed the extent or specifics of the damage caused but has strongly signaled its readiness to strike terrorist infrastructure and military support systems that aid hostile actions against Indian citizens.
