PM Modi to Visit Bihar on April 24; To Launch Development Projects Worth ₹13,480 Crore and Flag Off New Rail Services

Madhubani, Bihar | April 23, 2025 — Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Bihar on April 24 to participate in the National Panchayati Raj Day celebrations in Madhubani. As part of the visit, the Prime Minister will inaugurate, lay the foundation stone, and dedicate to the nation multiple development projects valued at over ₹13,480 crore.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to arrive in Madhubani around 11:45 AM, where he will address a large public gathering. He will also present the National Panchayat Awards, which recognize and incentivize the best-performing Panchayats across the country.

Major Announcements and Inaugurations:

  • LPG Infrastructure Boost:
    PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for an LPG bottling plant with a rail unloading facility at Hathua in Gopalganj district. The ₹340 crore project aims to streamline LPG supply chains and enhance transportation efficiency.

  • Power Sector Projects:
    Reinforcing his government’s focus on strengthening power infrastructure, the Prime Minister will launch projects worth over ₹6,200 crore under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS). This includes the foundation laying of ₹1,170 crore worth of projects and the inauguration of others worth ₹5,030 crore.

  • Rail Connectivity Expansion:
    In a major push to rail infrastructure, the PM will flag off multiple new rail services:

    • Amrit Bharat Express between Saharsa and Mumbai

    • Namo Bharat Rapid Rail between Jaynagar and Patna

    • New passenger trains between Pipra–Saharsa and Saharsa–Samastipur

    He will also inaugurate:

    • Supaul–Pipra rail line

    • Hasanpur–Bithan rail line

    • Two new 2-lane Rail Over Bridges at Chapra and Bagaha

    Additionally, the Khagaria–Alauli rail line will be dedicated to the nation.

Empowering Rural India:

As part of his focus on rural empowerment and women-led development, PM Modi will distribute ₹930 crore under the Community Investment Fund to over 2 lakh Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in Bihar under the DAY-NRLM scheme.

He will also hand over sanction letters to 15 lakh new beneficiaries under PMAY-Gramin, release installments to 10 lakh beneficiaries, and conduct Grih Pravesh ceremonies for:

  • 1 lakh PMAY-G beneficiaries, and

  • 54,000 PMAY-U houses in Bihar.

Significance:

This visit underscores the government’s continued emphasis on grassroots development, rural infrastructure, connectivity, and housing for all. The event is expected to draw participation from thousands of citizens, SHG members, panchayat leaders, and beneficiaries from across Bihar.
