Janakpuri to Become a Model Constituency: Delhi Minister Ashish Sood Inspects Civic Issues, Orders Immediate Action
Strict Directives Issued for Cleanliness, Security, and Infrastructure Development
The Impressive TimesNew Delhi, March 20, 2025 – Delhi Minister for Home, Power, Urban Development, and Education, Shri Ashish Sood, conducted an extensive inspection in A, B, C, and D blocks of Uttam Nagar within the Janakpuri Assembly constituency as part of his ‘Janata ka Vidhayak–Janata ke Beech’ initiative. During the visit, he addressed civic grievances, issued on-the-spot directives for immediate resolution, and emphasized transforming Janakpuri into the cleanest and safest constituency in Delhi.
During his visit, Shri Sood expressed strong displeasure over the poor maintenance of Bajrangi Park and reprimanded the area’s Deputy Commissioner for failing to address civic issues. He directed officials from Delhi Jal Board, MCD, BSES, Delhi Police, and Horticulture Department to take swift corrective actions, ensuring the removal of illegal encroachments, cleaning of drains before monsoon, and installation of streetlights and CCTV cameras.
Encroachment Removal – Orders issued to clear roads and public spaces. Sewage & Drainage Cleaning – Immediate action before the monsoon season. Park Revitalization – Improvement of Bajrangi Park and other neglected areas. Public Safety – Crackdown on anti-social activities, especially in parks. Infrastructure Upgrade – Improvement in electricity, water supply, sanitation, and roads.
Shri Sood engaged directly with local residents, addressing concerns related to hanging electrical wires, water contamination, garbage accumulation, and rising security threats. Women residents raised concerns about illicit alcohol and drug consumption in parks, urging strict action.
Assuring the public, Shri Sood emphasized:

Addressing summer and monsoon challenges, Shri Sood directed officials to:
Prevent power outages and water shortages before peak summer. Ensure pre-monsoon drainage preparations to tackle waterlogging. Prioritize garbage collection and waste management for a cleaner environment.
He urged residents to actively collaborate with government departments in maintaining cleanliness and security in the constituency. Shri Sood reaffirmed that he and his team would remain available 24×7 to resolve public grievances.
