BJP Candidate Rekha Sharma files Nomination for Rajya Sabha By-Election in the presence of CM & BJP State President

Congress Should Ensure 100 percent Procurement of Farmers' Crops at MSP in their States, CM Haryana

Chandigarh, December 10 – BJP candidate,  Rekha Sharma on Tuesday filed her nomination for the Rajya Sabha by-election in the Haryana Vidhan Sabha. She submitted her nomination papers to the Returning Officer, Ashok Kumar Meena. The Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, BJP State President, Sh. Mohan Lal Badoli, Cabinet Ministers, Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar, Rao Narbir Singh, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda, Sh. Vipul Goel, Sh. Shyam Singh Rana, Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi, Smt. Shruti Choudhry, Ms. Arti Singh Rao, Ministers of State, Sh. Rajesh Nagar, and Sh. Gaurav Gautam, MLAs and BJP leaders also remained present on the occasion.

Speaking to media persons after the nomination process, the Chief Minister said the Rajya Sabha seat became vacant after, Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar has been elected as MLA in the Haryana Vidhan Sabha and now Smt. Rekha Sharma filed her nomination for this Rajya Sabha seat.

While congratulating Smt. Rekha Sharma, the Chief Minister said, she is a senior party leader who has been working at the grassroots level to strengthen the party for a long time. He said that Smt. Rekha Sharma has also served as the Chairperson of the National Commission for Women in the past.

The Chief Minister thanked the Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, BJP National President, Sh. JP Nadda, Union Home Minister, Sh. Amit Shah, and Union Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal for nominating an active party worker to the Rajya Sabha. He expressed confidence that Smt. Rekha Sharma would effectively represent Haryana in the Rajya Sabha, benefitting the state significantly.

The Chief Minister highlighted that Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi is consistently working on empowering women by launching new schemes and policies. He noted that on Monday, the Prime Minister launched the “Bima Sakhi” scheme from Panipat, which will greatly benefit women by providing employment opportunities and making them stronger and more self-reliant. He attributed the BJP’s strong support from women to the Prime Minister’s relentless efforts in women empowerment.

The Chief Minister said that the “double-engine government” in Haryana is running numerous schemes for women, including self-help groups, “Drone Didi,” “Lakhpati Didi,” and programmes for women entrepreneurs. Furthermore, the Prime Minister’s “Nari Shakti Vandan Bill,” which provides 33 percent reservation for women in Lok Sabha and State Assemblies, will empower women and allow them to play a crucial role in the country’s development.

Responding to the media questions about the farmers’ agitation, the Chief Minister said that as a son of a farmer, he understands their problems. Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi for entrusting a farmer’s son with State’s responsibility, the Chief Minister said that the Prime Minister has worked tirelessly over the past decade to empower and strengthen farmers. He criticized Congress and other parties for politicizing farmers’ issues, calling it unfortunate. He urged them to refrain from engaging in politics in the name of farmers.

Nayab Singh Saini criticized Congress, accusing it of spreading misinformation that the BJP government would abolish MSP. He said that contrary to this claim, MSP is not being discontinued, but Congress is losing trust of the public. He said that the Haryana government has ensured 100 percent procurement of farmers’ crops at MSP and that the Prime Minister has been consistently increasing MSP every year. He challenged Congress, which is in power in Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, and Telangana, to ensure 100 percent MSP procurement of crops in their states.

The Chief Minister accused political parties in the I.N.D.I. bloc of exploiting farmers’ issues for politics. He called on AAP leader, Sh. Arvind Kejriwal to assure Punjab farmers of MSP procurement and introspect before pointing fingers at others.

The Chief Minister said that the Maharaja Agrasen Airport in Hisar is in its final stages of completion and will commence operations soon. This airport will open up opportunities for an industrial hub around Hisar and drive development, generating numerous employment opportunities, said Sh. Nayab Singh Saini. He said that this airport would benefit not only Haryana but also Punjab and Rajasthan significantly.
