Delhi Police’s Proactive Rook-Toko Strategy leads to arrest of Notorious Criminal in Red-Fort Area

New Delhi, 19 Feb 2024– In a decisive move to combat rising street crimes, the Delhi Police’s proactive patrolling operation, employing the Rook-Toko strategy, yielded significant results as the team from PP Red-Fort, PS Kotwali, successfully apprehended a desperate and hardcore criminal.

The arrested individual, identified as Pulkit alias Puneet, a notorious history-sheeter with a long record of criminal activities, was caught red-handed while brandishing a button-actuated knife during the late hours of the night. The vigilant team of PS Kotwali intercepted Pulkit as he roamed the area, evidently scouting for potential targets.

During the apprehension, a button-actuated knife, a notorious weapon of choice for criminals, was swiftly recovered from Pulkit’s possession. Additionally, further investigation led to the recovery of a stolen mobile phone, identified as a VIVO-Z1X, which Pulkit had snatched from a car belonging to a government employee.

Pulkit’s criminal history is extensive, with involvement in 24 cases spanning various offenses including snatching, house theft, and arms-related crimes across different police jurisdictions in North and Central Districts of Delhi. Despite being a known criminal, Pulkit’s insatiable desire for quick money and drugs led him to resume his unlawful activities soon after his release from prison last year.

The meticulous interrogation of Pulkit revealed startling insights into his modus operandi and criminal network. His disclosure of purchasing the button-actuated knife from the Paharganj market shed light on the accessibility of such lethal weapons in illicit markets.
