Anurag Rastogi assumes charge as Chief Secretary

New Delhi , 1 November , 2024 – Sh. Anurag Rastogi, a seasoned IAS officer from the 1990 batch, officially took over as the Chief Secretary of Haryana today. Known for his extensive administrative experience and deep understanding of governance, Sh. Rastogi is expected to bring a fresh perspective and vigor to the role during this interim period.

As per the recent government orders, Sh. Vivek Joshi from the 1989 IAS batch is designated to be the next Chief Secretary of Haryana. However, until he officially takes office, Sh. Rastogi will steer the Chief Secretary’s duties, ensuring continuity and effective administration across the state.

Sh. Rastogi’s appointment reflects the government’s focus on maintaining a steady hand in leadership, particularly as Haryana navigates its developmental goals and state initiatives. With decades of service and several pivotal roles across departments, he is well-equipped to handle the responsibilities that come with this high-ranking position. Sh. Anurag Rastogi, a senior officer of the 1990 batch of the Indian Administrative Service, on Friday assumed charge as the new Chief Secretary of Haryana.

As per the orders issued by the government, Sh. Vivek Joshi, an officer of the 1989 batch of the Indian Administrative Service, will be the Chief Secretary of Haryana. Till he assumes charge, Sh. Anurag Rastogi has been appointed as the Chief Secretary of Haryana.

Sh. Anurag Rastogi’s appointment as Acting Chief Secretary is part of a strategic decision by the Haryana government to ensure seamless governance. His extensive background includes roles in finance, infrastructure, and policy formulation, which have prepared him well for the demands of this influential role. Sh.
