Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has announced that the country’s first 21 km long undersea tunnel is currently under construction

The government has affirmed that the Bullet Train project is advancing swiftly. During Question Hour in the Lok Sabha, Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw provided details about the project’s progress. He noted that a 21-kilometer-long tunnel is being constructed 30 meters beneath the sea, marking a significant milestone in Indian infrastructure development. Vaishnaw also reported that 320 kilometers of foundation work has been completed.

The project, part of the Atmanirbhar Bharat campaign, involves several technology-intensive initiatives. Vaishnaw emphasized that the Bullet Train project represents a major technological and engineering feat, reflecting the government’s commitment to modernizing the country’s rail infrastructure. The completion of this ambitious tunnel and ongoing construction efforts highlight the project’s rapid progress and its importance to India’s transportation future.
