New Delhi – The Assistance in Deploying Energy Efficient Technologies in Industries & Establishments (ADEETIE) scheme was officially launched on 15 July 2025 by Union Minister for Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal, at a national event held at Arya (P.G.) College, Panipat, Haryana. This landmark initiative marks a decisive step toward India’s transition to aca low-carbon economy by enabling Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to adopt energy-efficient technologies through comprehensive financial and technical support.
The ADEETIE scheme, with a budgetary outlay of ₹1000 crore, is an initiative by the Ministry of Power, Government of India, implemented by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE). The scheme offers end-to-end handholding, including subvention on loans, Investment Grade Energy Audits (IGEA), Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), and post-implementation Monitoring and Verification (M&V). MSMEs will receive an interest subvention of 5% (for Micro and Small Enterprises) and 3% (for Medium Enterprises) to improve access to financing for energy efficiency projects.
Manohar Lal inaugurated the scheme and launched the official ADEETIE portal (adeetie.beeindia.gov.in), along with the Scheme Brochure. In his keynote address, he emphasized the crucial role of energy efficiency in economic growth and environmental conservation, particularly in the MSME sector. He noted that technologies under ADEETIE can help MSMEs reduce energy consumption by 30–50%, improve the power-to-product ratio, and support green energy transitions.

“ADEETIE is a transformative movement to empower Indian industries, especially MSMEs, to become globally competitive through sustainability. With the right mix of incentives and support mechanisms, we are catalyzing investments in cleaner, more efficient technologies,” said the Minister.
The event also featured insights from key officials. Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary, Ministry of Power, highlighted BEE’s pivotal role in mainstreaming energy efficiency and expanding the program across 14 energy-intensive sectors and 60 industrial clusters in the initial phase.
A.K. Singh, Additional Chief Secretary (Energy), Government of Haryana, stressed the importance of reducing fossil fuel dependence, especially coal-based energy, and urged MSMEs to take full advantage of ADEETIE for a cleaner future.
Akash Tripathi, Additional Secretary & Director General, BEE, stated that the scheme will offer both financial and technical assistance to MSMEs. Out of the ₹1000 crore budget, ₹875 crore is earmarked for interest subvention, ₹50 crore for energy audits, and ₹75 crore for implementation support. The scheme is projected to attract ₹9000 crore in investments, including ₹6750 crore of MSME lending.
The event was also attended by Krishna Lal Panwar, Cabinet Minister of Panchayats & Development, and Mines & Geology, Government of Haryana, and Priyanka Soni, Director, Department of New & Renewable Energy, Government of Haryana. The ceremony included the distribution of appreciation certificates to MSMEs for their early participation, the signing of MoUs with industrial associations, and testimonials from MSMEs on successful technology adoption.
The ADEETIE scheme stands as a significant milestone under India’s energy efficiency mission, aiming to empower MSMEs, enhance productivity, and promote a sustainable industrial ecosystem.
