New Delhi, 18 September 2025:The Ministry of Railways has announced its full preparedness for the Special Campaign 5.0, launched by the Government of India to institutionalize cleanliness and expedite the disposal of pending matters. The campaign, which began with a preparatory phase on 15th September 2025, will be executed across all Indian Railways units between 2nd and 31st October 2025.
The Railway Board, under the leadership of Chairman & CEO Satish Kumar, is closely monitoring the preparations. A comprehensive D.O. letter has been circulated to all General Managers and Heads of Units with clear directives. A review meeting chaired by the Secretary, Railway Board on 27th August 2025 further streamlined the strategy with nodal officers.
To ensure seamless execution, more than 150 nodal officers have been designated across 17 Zonal Railways, 70 Divisions, 10 PSUs, 9 Production Units, and 9 Training Institutes. A dedicated WhatsApp group has also been set up for real-time communication and updates.
The campaign will focus on key parameters such as:
Clearance of pending references and file reviews
Cleanliness drives across railway premises
E-waste management and scrap disposal
By finalizing specific targets and ensuring coordinated action, Indian Railways aims to make cleanliness an institutional habit while guaranteeing the timely resolution of pending matters.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that Special Campaign 5.0 becomes a resounding success, setting a strong example of efficiency, transparency, and accountability in governance.
