Faridabad– The Faridabad Estate Agents Welfare Association on Saturday organized a press conference at Sector-15 Community Hall at 10:00 AM to protest against the sale-purchase portal launched by the HSVP department. FEAWA has strongly opposed the decision of the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) to enter the property resale segment. Association President Akash Gupta warned that the move would severely impact property dealers who are already struggling due to market conditions and could threaten their livelihoods.

He emphasized that HSVP should focus on its primary role of urban development and property allotment rather than competing with dealers in the resale market. General Secretary Gurmeet Singh Deol, Treasurer Himanshu Aggarwal, along with Sunil Jatwani, Umesh Grover, Rituraj Bhardwaj, Avnish Bhasin, and several other dignitaries were present during the protest.

Property Dealers Oppose HSVP Portal, Fear Rising Unrest and Job Loss
FEAWA President Akash Gupta and General Secretary Gurmeet Singh Deol described the portal as “flawed,” urging HSVP to restrict itself to its original responsibilities, developing barren land into modern residential and industrial sectors instead of auctioning fertile farmland and EWS plots. The leaders alleged that over the last four years, HSVP has shifted toward a profit-driven approach favoring select groups while ignoring the concerns of real estate dealers and ordinary citizens. They cautioned that with 60% of HSVP staff retired and no new recruitment, pending works would increase, leading to public unrest and widespread unemployment among dealers and builders.

The association pointed out that HSVP has already engaged 350–400 advocates in various courts for disputes. Instead of resolving these cases and improving facilities in existing sectors, HSVP is expanding its commercial role. FEAWA warned that if the policy is not withdrawn, they will mobilize estate agents across districts, demand a meeting with the Chief Minister, and launch a statewide protest.

Following this conference, the Annual General Meeting was held, where Treasurer Himanshu Aggarwal presented the financial report, which was passed unanimously. President Akash Gupta also highlighted achievements from the past year, including reforms in stamp duty for joint ownership, decentralization of HSVP powers, appointment of two estate officers in Faridabad, permission for four-storey flats, a Housing Board transfer policy, and various beautification and plantation drives in collaboration with FMDA. The association also expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support of its annual blood donation camp, which has collected 400 units over three years in memory of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and the Sahibzadas. In conclusion, the association appealed to the Chief Minister to roll back the portal and safeguard the livelihood of thousands of property dealers across Haryana.
