Karnal: BJP Haryana State General Secretary Dr. Archana Gupta termed the Nari Shakti Vandan Act a historic and transformative step towards women empowerment, stating that it will grant rightful representation to half of the country’s population. Addressing a press conference at BJP office, Karn Kamal, on Monday, she said the Act will provide 33 percent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and State Legislative Assemblies, strengthening their role in policy-making and contributing to the vision of a developed India by 2047. She said increased participation of women will make democracy more inclusive and urged them to prepare for upcoming elections. She credited PM Narendra Modi for turning the vision of women empowerment into reality through the Act, which will boost confidence and strengthen decision-making from Panchayats to Parliament. Calling it the beginning of a new era in women’s leadership, she said empowerment is key to building a better society, with global studies linking higher female participation to economic growth and income equality. Highlighting achievements, she noted that 72% houses under PM Awas Yojana are in women’s names, 69% Mudra loans and 84% Stand-Up India beneficiaries are women. She also pointed to welfare schemes like Ujjwala Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, and Swachh Bharat Mission for improving women’s lives. Emphasizing leadership, she said women make governance more effective and the Act will establish them as policy-makers, while initiatives like Lakhpati Didi and Namo Drone Didi are promoting financial inclusion and entrepreneurship. She concluded that the Act will ensure greater focus on education, health, nutrition, safety, and sanitation, making governance more inclusive and enabling balanced, sustainable development. Prominent BJP leaders including District President Praveen Lathar, District Media Incharge Dr. Ashok Kumar, and several women office-bearers and social workers were also present at the event.
