West Bengal: After a goods train and the Kanchanjungha Express collided at Rangapani Station, at least eight people were killed, including three railway officials

Two compartments of the Kanchanjunga Express, which was headed for Sealdah, derailed this morning after colliding with a goods train close to the New Jalpaiguri station in West Bengal, resulting in eight fatalities and fifty injuries.

 

According to railway reports, the Kanchanjunga Express had two package vans and a guard coach at the rear when a container train missed the signal and struck the rear of the vehicle. The scene is now manned by 15 ambulances, the Divisional team, and the NDRF. There are now help desks open in several locations.
