Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami Says Mudra Yojana Sparked New Self Reliance Movement Across India

State highlights impact of flagship scheme on youth entrepreneurs and local economy

Dehradun, April 8: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday said the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana has led to a fresh wave of self reliance across the country as the scheme completed eleven years since its launch.

Describing the initiative as transformative, the Chief Minister credited it with empowering youth, women, and small business owners by providing access to collateral free loans. He noted that the scheme has opened new avenues for entrepreneurship and encouraged individuals to start their own ventures.

Dhami highlighted that the programme, introduced under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has become a symbol of economic empowerment. He remarked that over the past decade, it has enabled millions of people including traders, artisans, and women to turn their aspirations into reality.

The Chief Minister also pointed to the scheme’s visible impact in Uttarakhand, stating that many young individuals in the state have launched self employment ventures with financial assistance under the programme. He added that sectors such as micro enterprises, homestays, and self help groups in hilly regions have particularly benefited, contributing to job creation and improved livelihoods.

Launched in 2015, the Mudra Yojana provides financial support to micro and small enterprises engaged in non farm activities, helping strengthen grassroots level entrepreneurship and supporting the broader vision of inclusive economic growth.
