Ujjain – The holy city of Mahakal, Ujjain, is set to welcome delegates, policymakers, and spiritual leaders for PHDCCI’s 2nd Global Spiritual Tourism Conclave, themed “रूहmantic”, on 27 August 2025. The event is being organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board.
The conclave will be inaugurated by Dr. Mohan Yadav, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, as Chief Guest, along with Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister of Tourism & Culture, as Guest of Honour. Spiritual leader Gauranga Das Prabhu will deliver the keynote address.
Senior officials including Suman Billa (IAS), Additional Secretary & DG, Ministry of Tourism, and Sheo Shekhar Shukla (IAS), Principal Secretary – Tourism, MP Government, will address the gathering. A major highlight will be the release of the PHDCCI–KPMG Report on Spiritual Tourism titled “Faith & Flow: Navigating Crowds in India’s Sacred Spaces.”
A roundtable chaired by the Chief Minister will focus on strengthening infrastructure, promoting responsible hospitality, and enhancing cultural promotion in the spiritual tourism sector.
The conclave will feature multiple sessions, including:
Temple Economies – How faith sustains livelihoods
Mahakal’s Mandala – Balancing heritage and urbanisation in Ujjain
Mind, Body & Soul – Linking yoga, Ayurveda, and wellness tourism
Divine in the Digital – AI, VR, and apps shaping modern spirituality
Guardians of the Sacred Axis – The cultural significance of the 12 Jyotirlingas
Delegates will also visit Shri Mahakaleshwar and Kal Bhairav Temples, offering them an immersive spiritual experience.
