Mumbai, June 11 – The SoBo Mumbai Falcons sealed their spot in the final of the T20 Mumbai League’s third edition with a commanding six-wicket win over NaMo Bandra Blasters in the second semifinal on Tuesday night. The game, played with high energy and precision, saw the Falcons wrap up the chase with a whopping 32 balls to spare at the Wankhede Stadium.
With this win, the Falcons will now face MSC Maratha Royals in the grand finale on Thursday.
After being asked to bowl first by skipper Shreyas Iyer, who returned to lead the side in place of Angkrish Raghuvanshi, the Falcons executed their bowling plans to perfection, restricting the Blasters to 130/8. Pace ace Siddharth Raut struck early, removing key batter Suved Parkar and then Vikram Auti, while the spin attack kept the pressure on throughout the innings. The Blasters struggled to find momentum, managing just nine boundaries and five sixes in their 20 overs.
In reply, openers Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Ishan Mulchandani gave Falcons a flying start. Raghuvanshi was aggressive from the outset, smashing a quickfire 27 off just 14 balls, including two sixes and two fours in the opening overs. Although he fell early trying for a third consecutive six, the Falcons were already off to a blistering start at 30/0 in 3 overs.
Ishan Mulchandani, however, stole the show with an unbeaten 52-run knock, his third fifty of the tournament. With calm composure and elegant shot selection, he anchored the chase, finding solid support in Akash Parkar, who chipped in with a quick 32 runs.
The Falcons reached their target in 14.4 overs, ensuring an early wrap-up for fans, many of whom had enough time to catch a late local train home.
