Greater Faridabad: Vidyasagar International School, located in Gharaunda, Greater Faridabad, celebrated Mother’s Day on Saturday through a special event titled ‘Swarnim Aanchal’ to emphasize the significant role mothers play in their children’s development and success. A large number of mothers of enrolled students actively participated in various competitions and received awards for their enthusiastic involvement.
The event included discussions on students’ education and development in the presence of mothers, along with an overview of the current facilities provided by the school. Students were also educated about the value and role of mothers in their lives.
The chief guest of the program was Rajeev Jaitley, Media Advisor to the Chief Minister of Haryana, and the event was chaired by the school’s Chairman, Dharmpal Yadav. The significance of women serving the nation was highlighted by referencing national figures Sofia Quraishi and Vyomika Singh, inspiring students, especially girls.
To inaugurate the event, Rajeev Jaitley planted a tree and addressed the mothers, teachers, students, and school staff. He recalled being present at the school’s inauguration, where the management had promised free admission for girl students—a promise the school has continued to honor, which he described as a matter of pride. He praised the school’s initiative of celebrating Mother’s Day with a motivational focus on mothers.
Director Deepak Yadav emphasized that the mother is a child’s first teacher. He stressed that mothers should take an active interest in their children’s aspirations and areas of interest to guide them effectively. He said that while a mother’s presence is as precious as gold, when needed for the country, she can rise with the spirit of Sofia Quraishi and Vyomika Singh.
Chairman Dharmpal Yadav echoed this sentiment, emphasizing a mother’s vital role in nurturing a child’s health, hygiene, and emotional well-being. Principal Rekha Malik urged all mothers to stay closely involved in their children’s lives, narrate stories of bravery and sacrifice, and encourage them to bring pride to their family and nation.
At the conclusion of the program, Chairman Dharmpal Yadav honored Chief Guest Rajeev Jaitley with a traditional shawl, and Sammi Yadav presented a memento. Principal Rekha Malik extended heartfelt thanks to all the guests and mothers for their participation.
