New Delhi, October 22, 2025: The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) has intensified efforts under Special Campaign 5.0, focusing on workplace cleanliness, efficient file management, and prompt disposal of pending matters. The campaign, launched on October 2, 2025, is part of the Ministry’s commitment to institutionalize Swachhata, enhance productivity, and promote responsible e-waste management.

Key Achievements (Oct 2–17, 2025):

  • Conducted 493 outdoor campaigns and cleaned 973 locations.

  • 104 vehicles were condemned to clear space and improve operational efficiency.

  • Disposed of 1.43 lakh kilograms of scrap, generating revenue of Rs. 34.27 lakh and freeing up 8,007 sq. ft. of workspace.

  • Reviewed 13,900 physical files, of which 3,957 were weeded out, and 585 e-files, closing 165.

  • Resolved 301 public grievances, including 57 PG appeals, 16 MP references, 2 State Government references, and 1 PMO reference.

Officers from MIB were also deployed across field offices to monitor progress and ensure implementation of campaign activities.

The campaign further emphasizes community engagement and hygiene awareness, exemplified by sanitation drives conducted in schools, including an initiative by PIB Imphal, fostering both cleanliness and civic responsibility.

R. K. Jena, Senior Economic Adviser and Nodal Officer, inspected various sections of the Ministry at Shastri Bhawan, reviewing efforts on digitization, file weeding, and workplace cleanliness.

The Ministry continues to drive Special Campaign 5.0 with a focus on enhanced productivity, timely resolution of pending matters, and sustainable management of resources, reinforcing its commitment to a cleaner, more efficient, and responsible governance system.
