The Impressive TimesThe President of India, Droupadi Murmu, attended the 119th birth anniversary celebrations and Guruvandana Mahotsava of Sree Sivakumara Swamiji at Sree Siddaganga Math in Tumakuru on Wednesday.
Addressing the gathering, the President described the revered seer as a timeless spiritual force whose teachings and humanitarian efforts continue to inspire generations even after his passing in 2019. She emphasized that his life reflected a rare blend of spirituality and service, particularly through his unwavering commitment to uplifting the poor and marginalized.
Highlighting the continued efforts of Sree Siddaganga Math, President Murmu praised the institution for preserving and expanding the Swamiji’s legacy. She noted its significant contributions in the field of education, offering learning opportunities from basic schooling to professional courses such as engineering and management.
The President also acknowledged the role of Sree Siddha-Ganga Hospital, established under the Swamiji’s guidance, for delivering quality healthcare services to the public.
Speaking on the importance of education, she said that access to knowledge plays a crucial role in shaping individuals and strengthening society. By providing educational opportunities to students from disadvantaged and rural backgrounds, the Math has been instrumental in promoting inclusivity and self-reliance.

Commending the people of Karnataka, she said the state exemplifies a harmonious balance of tradition, service, and modern development. She lauded its citizens for their consistent contributions to the nation’s progress.
