37th Sharadiya Durga Utsav Begins at Faridabad Kalibari, Sector 16

The 37th Sharadiya Durga Utsav commenced at Faridabad Kalibari, featuring beautifully crafted idols, vibrant decorations, cultural programs, and daily rituals from 27th September to 2nd October 2025.

Faridabad, 27 September 2025: The 37th edition of Sharadiya Durga Utsav commenced today at Faridabad Kalibari, Sector 16, one of the oldest Durga Puja celebrations in the city. The festivities will continue until 2nd October, offering devotees an opportunity to seek blessings, receive prasad, and partake in langar from Mata Rani.

Idol and Decorations:
According to Mr. Suprakash Adhikari, Chairman of the Sharadiya Durga Utsav Committee, the Durga idol has been meticulously crafted by Mr. Panchu Gopal Pal and Pradut Pal, with the puja pandal and other decorative work designed by national artist Shri Dipak Kumar Ghosh. The Idol Unveiling Ceremony took place today, Panchami Tithi (27th September 2025).

Cultural Programs:

  • 27th September: Ananda Mela organized by devotees and women members of Faridabad Kalibari will begin at 7:15 PM, followed by a cultural program at 8:00 PM featuring performances based on Kapalkundala, the Bengali romance novel by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay.

  • 28th September (Sunday): Renowned Bengali vocalist Mrs. Sriradha Bandyopadhyay will perform. Daily rituals will include Puja at 8:00 AM, Pushpanjali at 10:00 AM, and Bhog/Langar distribution at 11:30 AM.

Key Rituals:

  • 1st October (Nabami Tithi): Puja at 8:00 AM, Pushpanjali at 10:00 AM, Prasad at 11:00 AM, Bhog/Langar at 12:00 Noon, and evening Aarti at 7:30 PM.

  • 2nd October (Dashami Tithi): Puja at 8:00 AM, Pushpanjali at 10:00 AM, Prasad and Protima Boron at 10:30 AM. Women’s devotees Mrs. Poulami Niogey and Mrs. Mousumi Ghosh will assist with the rituals.

The event is organized under the guidance of Faridabad Kalibari’s office bearers, including Dr. Pranjit Bhowmik (President), Mr. Achinta Kumar Pandit (General Secretary), and Dr. Monoranjan Santra (Vice President), with active participation and support from the devotees.
